POLICIES

Here are the detailed policies related to deposits/holding fees, rescheduling, weather rescheduling, virtual CD and archive fee, late arrivals, cancellations and no-shows, session review and disc release, retouching, printing and print quality, parents of youth clients, artistic composition, and re-shoots/refunds:

  1. Deposit/Holding Fee & Balance Due:
    • The balance of your session fee is due at the end of your session on the shoot date.
    • Accepted payment methods include all major credit cards, non-rubber checks, money orders, cashier's checks, and cash.
    • A 3% fee will be added to MasterCard and Visa credit card payments. A 5% fee will be added to Discover.
  2. Rescheduling:
    • Rescheduling is allowed one time as long as you provide 2 business days' notice (48 hours).
    • Business days are defined as Monday to Saturday.
    • Rescheduling with less than 2 business days' notice will be considered a cancellation, and your holding retainer fee will be forfeited.
    • The rescheduled appointment must be within 6 months of your original session date.
    • A second rescheduling is considered a cancellation and will result in the forfeiture of your holding fee.
    • No exceptions to this rescheduling/cancellation policy.
  3. If JackBuh Has to Reschedule:
    • In the event that the studio has to reschedule your shoot, you will receive a 30% discount off your remaining balance or the option of a full refund of your deposit if you prefer to cancel.
  4. Weather Rescheduling:
    • JackBuh is a natural light studio, primarily relying on natural light for photography.
    • In rare cases of super-dark and rainy days, rescheduling might be necessary to maintain the quality of the images.
    • If a weather-related cancellation occurs, the studio will make efforts to reschedule you quickly or provide a refund of your deposit.
    • Southern California experiences rare weather cancellations.
  5. Virtual CD & Archive Fee:
    • There is a mandatory service fee of $40 for digital delivery and studio archiving.
    • Your session gallery is a PIN-code protected "Virtual CD" where you can download all your full-sized images directly to your computer's desktop.
  6. Late Arrivals:
    • Being late for your shoot will result in reduced shoot time and fewer images/looks, as there may be a client scheduled after you.
    • Being over a certain number of minutes late is considered a cancellation and will result in the forfeiture of your holding fee.
  7. Cancellations & No-Shows:
    • Forgetting your session, canceling, or not showing up will result in the forfeiture of your holding fee.
  8. Session Review & Disc Release:
    • You will receive your images within 2-3 business days via a private, password-protected online gallery.
    • There is no need for a disc since your images are archived both by the studio and the lab providing the online gallery.
    • If you prefer, you can obtain a disc or USB with all the original, full-sized, high-resolution images from your session for a fee of $5 from labs like Argentums Photo or Reproductions.
  9. Retouching:
    • Retouching is optional and not included in your shoot fee.
    • The studio can provide referrals to great retouchers if you choose to retouch, or you can work with a retoucher of your own choosing.
  10. Printing & Print Quality:
    • The studio does not handle printing but collaborates with several labs to assist you with duplicating images, printing, proof sheets, 4x6 prints, etc.
    • If you prefer, you can take your disc or USB to any lab of your choice.
    • The client has the freedom to decide which lab to work with.
  11. Parents of Youth Clients:
    • For clients under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must be present at all times.
    • Parents or guardians can observe the shoot from the studio lounge area but are not allowed in the shooting area or the client's eye-line to avoid distraction.
  12. Artistic Composition:
    • JackBuh's photography style is known for interesting, creative, and dynamically composed photos.
    • The portfolio and promotional material reflect this shooting style.
    • Sometimes, unconventional composition techniques such as close cropping or off-center framing are used to create compelling and dynamic images.
    • Clients are advised to consider this shooting style before booking.
  13. Re-shoots & Refunds:
    • Photography is subjective, and artistic interpretations may vary.
    • Re-shoots or refunds are only provided for technical failures or malfunctions where the client receives less than 120 technically proficient images in clear focus.
    • The studio aims to ensure customer satisfaction.
